Purchased an MSI GX60 Gaming Laptop about a year ago now, But never really used it. Only recently have I started using it again and I've noticed that it will only Boot and play video games when it's on charge. If I take it off charge, It'll instantly turn itself straight off. No errors, Just power completely off.

I have a feeling that it's my battery,As the battery life itself is a little bad. But I don't want to go ahead and order a new battery without knowing it's the real problem.

Anybody got any ideas on what it could be other than that?

Runs Fine to be honest. Only shuts down when booting up a game. However, As noted above, The Battery life on the battery is terrible, Lasts less than 2h off charge. It's supposed to last up to 6 hours.

Wish I could tell you for sure but if it kicks on the dedicated graphics when you start the game and the battery is weak, it would make sense that it shuts down as the dedicated graphics will draw a lot more power. If it was working fine before when you were getting decent battery life, then I would also conclude that the battery has just worn out. Only real way to tell is a new battery.

Thanks for the opinion. I'm just going to grab a new battery. Not sure if you'd know, But would a third party battery be fine? I'm trying to find an Authentic one, But I can't seem to come across them. Only third party ones from China :S
