MSI h110m pro vh plus cannot detect GPU on X1 slots

I am using msi 110 m pro vh plus as replacement motherboard while I am rma'ing a z170. I was mining with 3 cards on the z170.

But h110m is not able to detect more than 1 card. The 1st card is on pcie x16 slot.
The 2nd and 3rd slots on board are x1 and I have connected them via x1 to x16 risers. THese are the cards which the board is not able to detect.

Kindly advice what could be done for rectification of the problem.
