I am hoping to get a blue/black Matx motherboard with a LGA 1150 socket. So far, i only found these two within my budget.
MSI H97M-G43
Asrock H97M Pro4
I am planning to buy an i5 when broadwell hit the market. But now i'm in need of a computer since new semester is coming in 2 weeks so i can`t wait for the broadwell launch. So my idea is to get G3258 on a H97M mobo and wait for broadwell. So i need your help on deciding the mobo the mobo that i need to go for since i`m going to overclock the G3258 between 3.8-4.2 Hz just to feel the thrill of OC`ing :wahoo: and a little bit of gaming. I know MSI allows H97M series board to overlock pentium K but im not too sure with Asrock. The con for MSI mobo is they only have 3 fan ports compare to 5 ports of Asrock mobo. So i hope you guys can help me on deciding which mobo i should buy.
Thanks for reading and sorry for the long explanation :)

The asrock has an easier bios to configure, xfast net components and some other gimmick software stuff. The MSI is solid performing all around above average, the asrock is split, some things are slower than average, some faster than the MSI.

My question is since the prices of H boards are equivalent to Z boards for the most part, why are you limiting yourself to a locked i5, where you won't see the 4.2MHz or even close without buying the strongest i5 or even a K model.
If this is only temporary, save a few bucks now and get a b85, then open up cpu/mobo possibilities later when Broadwell is released.

Thanks for answering :) In my country H and Z series board difference is 100-150 MYR which is a lot for me. That`s why i decide to go for H series and locked i5 which is good enough for me. As for the B85 board, the price here is around 250+ MYR. So i think its better to buy H series board which is 300+ MYR and just replace the G3258 with an i5. Hmm so asrock board will allow me to OC the pentium k with no problem? Can i manually change the Vcore because if using auto setting it would set the vcore above 1.3 which im not too confident.

Thanks for the reply :) The pentium k is just a temporary so i wont be focusing mainly on OC`ing. Just wanted to try overclocking before i buy a locked i5 in the future. Do you know asrock board will allow the pentium k to be overclock on their H97 pro4 board? Just to compare it since MSi board have only 3 fan ports. Thanks again!
