Hi, ive had this motherboard for awhile, but whenever i download features for it from MSI's website (CoreCenter etc) it loses the plot!

i installed well, everything for it on MSIs website lastnight, 1 "GoodMem" slows down my system MAJORLY (as in typing lag slow).

the RAID drivers (im running WD Raptors in Raid0) dont work at all (tried everything) i had to use some differant drivers they said dont work with my system or sommit (but hey, it worked!) and when i say it wouldnt work i mean i couldnt even install windows due to the errors etc it was popping up with, total nightmare, spent 3hours playing with it all last format during a "im going to fix this!" session.

now..... when i reboot, ive got
2 errors for CoreCenter,
1 Error for RAID
2 Errors for Digicell
1 Error saying "blabla does not support your motherboard".
2 Errors for Liveupdate (also had this on past MSI motherboard)

now ive checked my mobo box.
"K8N Neo2 Platinum Edition"
website says K8N Neo2 Platinum

1# is it me or am i doing somthing dredfully wrong? (WHAT!?)

2# or is MSI just a crap 2 bit company who cant make software for there motherboards..

(i personally vote for #2)

if somone can tell me this is typical of msi or what im doing wrong please fill me in :)

I have that same board and have no problems other than not being able to set the hyper-transport multi to 5. Must leave it at 4 to boot.
I currently have corecenter running all the time- no problems.
Run digicell when I change speaker config to watch movies on my big screen - 5.1 to 2 for home theater. no problems.
Have used the live update with no problems.
The other software I really havent used.
I am also running a Raid 0 on 2x250gb WD sata drives. enabled it in the bios, windows detected the raid, installed the drives and has been running flawlessly now for 4 months.
My os is on a 200gb WD pata drive. the raid is for games and such.
I would only install what you actually will use. Leave the other stuff off as most of its useless.
When your installing windows, are you loading the os with all updates and patches, current chipset and video drives before trying these programs out?

very odd, ive just tested "K8N Neo2-F" software (incase i was using wrong board or somthing), same problem.

Cpuz has no info on my mainboard either, infact... i cant even see anywhere in my system settings etc what motherboard i actually have (other then bios loadup) everything just says "unknown".

im really getting fedup with it.. since every time i boot windows im getting

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v292/Blank2k2/Errors.jpg
those errors (note, 2 in bottem left have been copy & pasted since they popup after ok them)

i want digicell running & liveupdate running all the time. dun really care about the others, but i cant even have that.
and like i said on my past msi motherboard i had the exact same problem with Liveupdate.

and yea im installing all the drivers before putting in the software etc.

really confussed now :/

It looks like you will have to do a clean install. It seems that Windows is messed...

Or you can try to remove all your mobo related drivers and reinstall them. But a clean Windows install will probably fix most of your problems. Maybe, you got some "corruption" in your RAID array.

well after spending about 13hours (very long night)
formating / reinstalling windows and messing around with the "Correct" drivers for this motherboard... i got no where.
back to using to nforce 4 drivers again, still getting the raid error popup etc.

should CPU-Z tell me im using a MSI motherboard etc?
atm the only relivent info it has is Nforce3 chipset.

nothing seems to tell me my motherboards make/name etc other then when i bootup & get the platinum screen, plus ive still got all the live update etc errors.

could this be down to a faulty motherboard?..seems strange to me but i dunno anymore lol.

truely baffled.

been debating weather to upgrade to PCI-Express etc, this MSI motherboard is giving me a really good reason to ditch it. and like i said, Liveupdate didnt work on my past MSI motherboard either, even tho this comp has everything differant to my old PC except the 120gig HDD witch is just used for storage now (raptors as main drive)

PS
new account, since i lost password for 2k2 & couldnt get it via THG fogot button.

Same mobo and Mines been fine. I can run a 5X HT at stock speeds and up to 205 bus even, then need to switch to 4X to OC higher of course. Corecenter has been fine for me, but I don't use the other software.
