I am in the process of building a new gaming system. I am going to get an AMD64 3200 and after reading reviews and postings, I am thinking about getting one the MSI K8T Neo motherboards. I have no plans to for overclocking the system. Other than the additional RAID channel, FireWire port and about $35 is there any difference between the FSR and FISR2 models? I don't have a need for the FireWire and I am not going to use the RAID, so it looks like the FSR is the way for me to go. Is there anything I am missing comparing these 2 boards?

I appreciate your help and feedback.

You lose the Promise controller chip with the FSR and you still have no HDD activity LED's with SATA hard drives. I would wait for the K8N Neo with the Nforce3-250 chipset. It will only be another week and you will lose the VIA blues!

Thanks for the info. I am still a couple of weeks away from buying, so I will look at the K8N Neo. Any idea how much they may cost when they are released?

The Gigabyte version is $133.00 at Newegg. I look for MSI to come up with a low-end Neo at $100.00 or so and the Platinum at $175.00 or so.
