MSI Mpower Max Z87 Causing Crashes?

Has anyone heard of any incompatibility issues with an MSI MPOWER MAX Z87 Mobo with the following hardware?

-EVGA GTX 780 Ti SC w/ ACX Coolers
-Intel i7-4770k 3.5 Ghz
-Corsair H100i Water Cooler
-Corsair Vengeance 16 GB 1600 DDR3 (2x8GB)

The reason I ask is because I will often be the victim of random crashes of whatever program it is that I am using. It has ranged from when I play Counter Strike, to just browsing the web.

When I am playing Counter Strike, and I receive a crash, it does not give me any sort of error report. It just closes the game. There have not been any patterns that I have noticed that cause it. Sometimes I will go for a couple of days without crashing. Other times, I will crash three times within a few minutes.

Also, I noticed that my motherboard's "Auto" setting for my RAM sets it to 1333, when I am using 1600 RAM. I thought that might be the issue, so I manually changed it to 1600. I am still experiencing crashes.

I used to run Windows 7, and tried completely changing the operating system in order to fix it. I upgraded to Windows 8.1, and I am still experiencing the crashes.

Any insight that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I have Google'd a lot, and have found nothing that is helpful. Thanks!

I'd first try to rule out memory instability: try running memtest86+ overnight. If you were already getting crashes at 1333 then I doubt speed is the issue but let's check anyway. Are the DIMMs installed in the manual-recommended slots?

Sorry for the late reply. I have tried different sticks of RAM, and they are indeed being put into the proper DIMM slots. I am still experiencing the crashes. I have ruled out my GPU and RAM so far. I have swapped out my 780 Ti with an Radeon 7870, and I still crash. Are these crashes something that the PSU could cause? I have kept a close eye on all of my temperatures, and nothing is overheating. So, it is either my PSU, Mobo, or my CPU.

I have had some friends suggest that it is a software issue. If that is the case, I am not sure how to troubleshoot that. I don't even know where to begin. Is that the type of issue where I will need to completely format my hard drives, install ONLY Steam, CSGO, and my graphic drivers, and see if I still experience the crashes?

if just the game, it may be the software issue, not the hardware problem
but check your memory, if for the hardware, it more like the memory problem as well
either call msi or corsair for the service help

The game crashes, but so does my web browsers. It's not just CS:GO that crashes, either. If I were to play WoW, or Battlefield, or whatever...it still crashes. I have swapped out different sticks of RAM, and I still experience the crashes. However, I formatted my hard drives last night, and reinstalled only the essential software. I am running only the required drivers, Steam, and CSGO, and I have not experienced any crashes yet. I wonder if it is one of the drivers that MSI has that was acting weird with my hardware.

I remember in the past updating my BIOS, and I still was having the crashes. I have the latest GPU drivers. I currently DO NOT have the latest BIOS driver, due to a format on all of my drives. But, with that being said, so far I have not experienced any crashes. Only time will tell whether it was fixed or not. If the format fixed it, it must have been a software issue. I will keep this thread updated in case anyone else experiences the same issues with similar hardware.

Keep us updated, would prob try another PSU if they reoccur, sounds like an older model, theink OCZ brought those out in 2011 or so

Will do. Yeah, the PSU is definitely a few years old. Why would a PSU cause symptoms like that? I would think that if a PSU is failing or is incompatible, the whole system would just fail and shut off.

Hmmm. Weird. Well, I MAY have found what the issue was. I was playing some CSGO earlier today, and everything was going fine. I alt tabbed, and started browsing the web. I installed the add-on "AdBlock" to my web browser. Once I tabbed back into the game, it crashed. I then removed AdBlock from my web browser, and I haven't crashed yet (though, it is going to require more testing). I will continue to update.

So, it's definitely a possibility that AdBlock is what was the source of my computer frustrations for a very, very long time? If that's the case, then I feel kind of dumb for not ruling that out earlier. It just seems too easy. I will give it a few more days, and if I do not crash at all, I will post that the removal of AdBlock was the solution.

Update: Still crashing, except now my entire system just freezes. It just did it twice within a couple of minutes. This is so frustrating. I have no clue what is causing this issue.
