[SOLVED] MSI MS-16K2 Powers on, then turns on immediately.

I have an MSI MS-16K2 that powers on for a few seconds, sometimes the display powers on, then you hear the click as if you were holding the power button and it shuts off.
I've heard that the battery could be dead so I opened it up, took the battery out and plugged in the charger and the same problem occurs.
I also took the HDD out, replaced it to see if it would turn on with a different boot device to no avail. I've heard that it could be a dead MOBO, but want to ask a forum before I give up on it. Any thoughts? Thanks.

That's an indication that the power circuitry on the motherboard for your afflicted laptop is compromised. Might want to take the board to a certified repair shop whereby they can identify the fault in said motherboard power input circuit(voltage injection or their ilk).

Thanks for the insight. I felt that the issue at hand was beyond my paygrade, but I wanted to be sure that it wasn't something that was right in front of me.
