Hi, First here is my Specs:

Q6600 @ 2.4
MSI p45 Neo 2 fr mobo
8gb OCZ Platinum 800mhz (5-4-4-18) 2.1v
Ati HD4870 1gb

i think thats the relevant stuff.

so, my problem is, that i was trying to OC the CPU. i left every thing AUTO on the bios, just change the frequency to 333, and i have to chance the latencies values of my ram, the defaults was 5-5-5-18, but i got some BOSD, so i change it to 5-4-4-18 and works great.

the thing is, that when i change the cpu freq, to 333. i restart the system and nothing happens. i must reset the bios and go to default settings again. i tryed to chance the vcore to 1.2v and 1.3v but nothing happens..

what can i try?

i dont what to go more than 3.0 ghz by now. since i have stock HS.

well.. hope u can help.. sorry for my bad english. feel free to correct.

i went mode 2.. and it works.. it post and i tested with prime, only 6 minutes, and the temps are:

core0 68c
core1 68c
core2 65c
core3 67c

is this to hot?

the core voltage is 1.280
the core speed is 2998.5
bus speed 333.2

P45 is good for overclocking, you just the wrong motherboard. I have the Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L and i'm doing a stable oc of 3.2 ghz 400x8 settings with my fsb at 1600 using the same memory.

i think theres a onboard jumper that you switch from 266 to 333. i have same motherboard and same chip with 2 gigs of geil and i run my system at 3.6ghz. my fsb is set to 400 with multiplier of 9 . i done 3.8ghz but it requires me to do 1.5v and it runs hot. as for my memory i have it running at 1000mgzh at 4-4-4-15 @ 2.3volts(memory are close to crapping out tho). i think its a great board and its one of the few p35 boards that do 500+ on the fsb(my 3.8ghz was 475x8)

Hey I have the same board ...

did it work with the jumper ?????

i changed from nvidia 2 gb graphics card to ati ( not on my good free will),
and after that i have been strucling with multiple randoms BSOD every day ,
And thats Even if pc is idle .

i run with :
intell Q6600 2.4
8 gb ram ( mainboard can tak up to 16 gb).
ati twinfrozr 3 2 gb pci express.

on this mainboard :
msi p45 neo2 fr (on a red label)
Under the red label it says :
msi p45 neo2 fr : Platinum

I have tried clean win 7 64 bit install, and done right after :
CMD < sfc /scannow
then it says that some windows files cannot be repaired.

i have tried with all kinds of drivers for ati, even tried to disable :
hdmi sound device.

i have changed cabinet and power supply from a 770 W to an 1000 W.
3 new sata hd.

and still get those darn bsod randoms.

is this mainbord msi p45 neo2 fr. just not good enough for my stuff ???

please help me out here.

Borg Denmark.

q6600 run HOT compare to newer chips. Make sure you have adequate cooling for all major compartments of your PC.
Also from what i remember if your heat sink applies too much pressure on the cpu socket it will make the system VERY unstable.

on a side note this is a 4-5 year old thread.

hey

yeah i know it is old..

but i am havint this problem ,
and it started after i changed the nvidia card out fot an ATI Card.

nothing to do with the cpu or chipset it is all cooled extra.
the cpu pressure ???? nothing wrong there .

I had a similar problem with an ati card, if I remember well it was because of catalyst control center.
Think I've installed a previous version (or removed ccc), anyway bsod was gone.
