MSI P67A-GD65 (B3) BIOS UPDATE for Ivy-bridge

Hi there,

I have bought MSI MB P67A-GD65 (B3) and new processor i7 3770 which is Ivy.
On the MSI site, this one is supported with new BIOS, but can I boot into the BIOS with this processor to update ? or do I need some older sandy for doing that ?

You may have to buy a cheap low-end SB processor to complete the BIOS update. Or find a shop that will do it for you.

No problem. Do you know if the board's BIOS has been updated so far?

sadly I don't know 🙁 and I don't think so..
so if I understand that, I will not be able to load BIOS with IVY before update right ?

Yes, if the board's BIOS does not support the CPU (too old), then you need a supported CPU for updating the BIOS. A local PC repair shop might help (if not expensive).
