Hello, i have a MSI pc mate Z97 mobo and the other day i was reading its specs on the official site, i noticed that it says that it supports upto DX11, perhaps i don't know something about API's but what does the mobo have to do with DirectX? it supports gen 3 PCIE 16X, assuming that i will eventually upgrade to windows 10, and if i get a dx12 GPU, will there be any problems? is my mobo compatible with DX12?,

Also i looked at the GPU compatibility list of my mobo and it does not mention the newer R9 300 series, anything to worry about?

It should be fine. gpu's are the only component that need to support dx12. The site probably doesn't say anything about it supporting dx12 because the page hasn't been updated. The r9 300 series will work with your motherboard as well because graphics cards will work with pretty much any motherboard assuming it has the right pcie slot. Hope this helps :)
