My MSI R7 250 2GB DDR3 graphics card is not outputting any video at all. I installed the catalyst drivers successfully, and the system boots fine without the graphics card. EUFI bios graphics settings are set to PEG, so it should boot to the graphics card. When the graphics card is installed, no display ports work, but the card seems to be on because the fan works.

Many seem to suggest you need 5-600w psu for an r7 250. I am skeptical of this My draw should be under 250W, and my psu is 380. I run a much more powerful system on 500 and a graphics card with no auxiliary power connectors, and an Pentium should not need the same size psu as my I5-4670k and R7950.

Problem system
Pentium G3420
GSkill ARES 4gb 1600mhz
Earthwatts 380 80+ bronze psu
2x Seagate 1tb 7.2k drive
Asus dvd drive
Card reader (no aux power)
Intel stock fan
12cm case fan

Solution
MSI's website shows that board to have 1 pci-e 3.0 and 1 pci-e 2.0. The 2nd slot will be x4 on a B85 board instead of x16, but it will work for testing. Honestly though since it also didn't work in the other computer I would have to say it's DOA. Also if you return it for a refund, get a ddr5 card. In the same model it will be a 30% or so increase in performance and a little less power usage.

You've either already eliminated most issues and the rest I can think of wouldn't apply to your system. Have you tried the card in your other machine? Also, was there a card in this machine already?

Oh, and this is a new build and the only card I put in it, its all new except for the hard drives

no other slots to use, its a micro atx. Looks like ill have to return it.

Micro atx cases are 4 slots, and that is slot 4, its a dual slot card so it wont fit unless i take the mobo out. I have already put hours into this card and am very displeased. The also the GDDR5 version has 1gb insted of too. I may just go with a sapphire. This is not the first MSI graphics card I have had a problem with and I like my sapphire 7950 alot.

If you see the box of you graphic card has uefi windows label you must use windows in uefi mode or else it will not recognize the card to boot, the default bios is in legacy mode you must change it in uefi mode,Maybe your windows installed in legacy mode,it will not recognize any device or card that is uefi mode only
