I'm about to seriously throw this card out the window if I can't fix this problem.

Anyways, My problem is exactly what the title says, I can't get this card to exceed 15 FPS in BF4 and the GPU usage never goes above 30%. I'm new to the AMD scene because my old 460(Which at this point can out-perform my new 280X) Had driver issues.

My specs are the following:

Win7 x64
Intel Core i7 2600K
Gigabyte Z68 X P-UD3 Mobo
8GB of 1333Mhz RAM
650 Watt Corsair PSU.

I would also like to state that I'm on my fourth MSI 280X from newegg because of the same problem. And there is no overheating as the card doesn't go past 30% usage.

I've also tried all compatable drivers for this card to no avail. Help would be appreciated.

Solution

The problem was already resolved. I just got a couple 280X's from Sapphire that work fine and have been for a little over two weeks.

Cause there is NO WAY you can get 6 bad cards in a row from any source. Called this thread into question several times early on. I dont understand what the fun or fascination with trolling like this. The OP just ends up sounding like a complete and utter idiot. Like happened here.

what are the drivers you installed? can you give me the exact download link.
and for the best. try your card on another pc install drivers, and see if it will work with the other pc, if yes then you have a problem on your system and not the gpu

I was never trolling at all in this thread. The problems I had were very real. It doesn't matter any more because I have two working 280X's from Sapphire that have been running for about two weeks with one in each Intel systems I own.

Thank's to the people that actually tried to help me, it is very much appreciated.

When I said I had 20 years that was a typo. And did it ever occur to you that MAYBE I own more than one system?

I'm glad that i spotted this thread after installing my R9 280x DC2T card just now lol. I just finished benchmarking the GPU and all kinds of stress tests and it passed with flying colours, so i'm glad i didn't changed my decision in getting this card.

The box has a serial number on it and i'm pretty sure there are ways to find the uniqueness or serial number of GPU somewhere physically on the card as well. A manufacturer won't do something so petty imo.

Well you can simply prove him wrong with a snapshot of your room running all your 4 PCs with your tom's username visible somewhere in it.

Anyways glad that sapphire card finally resolved your problem.

I'm not exactly sure what happened because my 280X's from Sapphire that I got from Amazon are working like a dream. My guess is it was just some really bad luck on my part.

Perhaps it could be a Hard Drive Problem. You have really crappy load times, which could be indicative of a semi-failing Hard Drive. Maybe the Hard Drive couldn't access the Driver (In Time), which could be the reason why BF4 is having bad frames. Also, are you having bad load times with BF4?

Solution

Sure it is, but to have 2 brand new systems and changing them in each post is a bit questionable.

PS: 1 and 2 are on different sides of the keyboard then 2 and 0... :)

iam running cross fired 280's and had problems from the get with them as well psu i originally picked was supposed to meet the need of 2 HD 7970 but they were out of those and i made a snap desiction to trust micro center guy when he these will work with your build. went up to a 1000 watt. Then drivers would just randomly stop working the latest update a week or two ago fixed the problem. But I agree no more msi.

on a side note how did you guys who got the msi one like the manual/poster of useless that came with that heap. My asus sabertooth mb came with a bible of useful info wish all expensive parts would come with this kind of in-depth info. call me crazy are N-vidia cards easier to update.

glad you finally got it sorted. Just bad luck you got a few dud cards, or those cards just happened to be incompatible with the multiple setups you had (unlikely but).

By the looks of it, You are the one trolling here. Everything you've said on here has just been bashing me and not actually giving any help or suggestions.

And in case you haven't noticed, The problem has already been solved, Yet you keep going on and on about this being a troll thread. You are definitely the troll here.

Orly? Even a mod said this was likely to be a troll thread. You never had a problem.

If I "Never had a problem" Would I have screenshots with Battlefield 4 and GPU-Z open to prove my point? You can see in the screenshots that I was having the problem yet you still go on.
