MSI R9 280x upgrade

Hello, I currently have a MSI R9 280x in my computer but I was wondering if I upgrade to the Evga GTX 970 or 980 will it be a good upgrade that I will see a lot better performance?

Surely it will be noticeable upgrade.

Both options will be noticeable. THe 970 is not that much better than r9 280x, so the difference will not be giant, but with the 980 it is a whole different story. If you upgrade to the 980, you will notice a giant performance boost. If you are playing at 1080p the 980 is more than enough to run everything at ultra.
