My R9 390 is less than a year old, Purchased in February of this year. It never used to have heating issues untill the last month or so. I am using the NZXT H440 case, so it has plenty of room. I was told that some times MSI can mess up on the thermal compound. Highs of 88-90c and idle is 54-55c with max fan rpms. If I see the 90 I stop whatever game i'm playing and let it cool down.

So I was told to return it, I have the year warranty with newegg and i still have 5 months on that year. Newegg says it's ineligible for return, or replacement... What do I do?

these temps are very normal for the 390
check with afterburner if the fans really spinning at 100% at this temp

you could decrease the power/voltage a little bit to get better temperature ratings too

idling at 55°C is not that good
are the case fans correctly plugged in?
open the sidepanel to check if it has an effect

which ambient temperature do you have in your room?

Yeah I have msi afterburner and got the fans cranked up all the way. The fans are correctly plugged in, my room is around 70f. I've even tried opening the side panel and putting a house fan on it. Still reaches 90.
