MSI Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Video Card

I am building a PC, and I am trying to make it pretty future-proof.
I wasn't sure what Graphics Card to choose, and a friend suggested the MSI Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Video Card
Anybody know if this is any good?

I have the xfx radeon hd 7870, its a good mid mid high gaming gpu. At 1080 on cod ghosts and bf4 on max setting i average 70-90 fps. The brands will vary performance insignificantly, more cooling differences. I have the dd or double disipation which has 2 fans vs the normal xfx 7870. I believe msi has 2 fans as well. As far as brands id recomend his, saffiare, xfx dd, msi or asus, whichever is cheaper.

But that said, if you can pony up $250-300 the 7950 or new 280x is a better card and will game longer harder and for more years
