Msi sli plus x370 ddr4 speed

hi, i'm planning to do a ryzen 1600x build with the msi plus motherboard, i'm wondering if it's able to use store bought 3200mhz ddr4 or do i have to overclock the ram to that speed, the msi website says 3200mhz oc and pc part picker just says 3200mhz, please help

To have ram working at 3200 MHz, you have to: buy ram that is 3200 MHz, AND overclock it to that speed. Note that the latter might be a problem on many Ryzen boards.

so should i get the 3200mhz ddr4 or just stick with the highest one that dosen't say oc?

Tough question. Ryzen builds get performance boost when coupled with fast ram, so it's better to buy faster ones. Even if you would not be able to use full speed now, future BIOS updates should certainly remove that problem. Unless you are on the budget - then you should aim at 2667 MHz ram.

Dont by cosair lpx. It uses hynix type memory. Spend more money and get the gskill flare x that uses samsung b die. You will never get 3200mhz on hynix memory no bios updates will solve this. Its the infinity fabric the cpu uses. Trust me i just saved you 160$ your welcome internet
