Question MSI tomahawk z270 won’t boot with ssd

So my old ASUS Mobo bit the dust and I bought a msi tomahawk z270 to get back up and running. However it will not recognize my Samsung 850 evo as a boot device. The bios will not allow me to switch from raid to ahci since my evo is ahci I thought this might help to read it and successfully boot. Any guidance on how to get my system up and running would be much appreciated

Generally - if you change motherboard, you also reinstall windows. Reinstall can be avoided, if you changed to same model board (or at least chipset is the same). Rest of situations, reinstall is highly recommended. Windows activation will be broken in all situations anyway.

What was model of previous board?
