it has the price/performance of a high-end gaming laptop with a bigger screen and the portability of a desktop. IMO, its for gamers who like aesthetics over performance and don't mind paying the price.

$3200 to $2700 with less RAM and 1TB HDDs instead of SSDs

Gamers bundle included

It is definitely portable the lack of a battery has less impact 'gaming' laptops get what 1 to 1.5 hours when gaming?

As living spaces get smaller the appeal of more compact tech devices has grows. At 27" this unit could be enjoyed viewing movies and HULU and sub for a TV, the touch screen allows for interactive programs. This may have a wide appeal and add to MSIs business success.

With the large screen and higher frame rates afforded by the 1080p the immersion factor should be great.

In general not every gamer wants to ever drop a huge wad of money on the state of the art gaming rig. Especially when the newer, faster, more powerful system/components are just around the corner. Many wait to buy used systems for a fraction of the original cost riding the back end of the curve.

Here we have it folks. We have everyone going toward mobile market and forgetting about desktops. We have this constant push for this. It seems like the development is stalling and we see it going no where. The folk tell us about 22nm chips. The same legacy code and lack of innovation seems to be the deal. Its like they are just trying just sit back because the console market is so far behind.

I don't follow you... push for what? All in ones are here since for ever at 3000$ that's product for very few.
Trending to new technology is to be expected... that doesn't mean there is some progress to be made there... only money just another market to sell products in. Game creators are indeed waiting for consoles to get up to speed... there is noting wrong with that I don't want to change PC hardware every year do you ? Game creators now know that they cannot push people against the wall with hardware requirements because they won't sell much(look how sims games look like). The practice that you want could actually be death of gaming on pc... but no one would gain for that.
