hi there, i have been trying to get my motherboard to work with a 5820k, 16 crucial ballistix sport ram and a noctua cooler. For some reason the internal power light is on, but when i press the internal switch, not even the fan moves. Does it look like the socket in the picture is maybe damaged?

Any help would be appreciated.
Btw: using an enermax 620w power supply

Yes, and they both should generally work, because I now reattached my old motherboard-cpu and they work without any problems. I am really stumped, I got all this awesome gear and have no clue why it is malfunctioning.

Ok, so no RAM or GPU...Will try, thanks a lot. It's just strange because neither the case power-button nor the internal power button, which is lighting up, work.

Ok, so the newest update: I brought the motherboard back to the store and will receive a replacement early next week free of charge. Question: Whenever I reinstall the cpu, is there any chance that the old motherboard fried it and it will fry the new one in return?

So, I recieved a new motherboard, hooked it up without RAM or CPU, just to see whether I would get a beeping sound: nothing. Shouldn't I get an error-code in such a situation? At least the power button lights up when it's connected to the psu. I cannot test it with cpu yet, I am still waiting for a mounting kit for my fan. Is there any chance that my psu is not compatible? It's an Enermax 630W, with 24pin and 8pin connectors, and it works very well with my old system...Any input would be appreciated...

No, no beeps if CPU not installed.
When CPU available, try starting the board with only CPU, CPU fan and internal speaker installed. See if the CPU fan does spin and if any beeps.
