Msi z170a compatibility

So im sure this may have been andwered many times. But im currently building my first pc with the msi z170a mobo and an i7 7700k cpu, and was wondering if ddr3 ram would be compatible, because i have a 4gb ramstick i want to se it to function and move files before i upgrade to ddr4 ram for gaming. Thanks in advance

The Z170 board may not have a compatible BIOS for Kaby and you need DDR4.
