Question MSI z390 edge hdmi port not working

i have an MSI ac edge motherboard that works perfectly with a monitor but when i try to plug in my tv to the on board HDMI port there is no signal. i enabled the integrated graphics from the BIOs but its still a no go. help

Are you sure none of the ports are dodgy on the tv, and have you tried getting an adapter and using a different input?
