My PC died and I had to order an Origin PC because I couldn't wait to find a GPU and pick parts, so I only had a couple choices of mobos. I've built every PC since 99 or so. The motherboard is a MSI Z690-A Wifi DDR5. The RTX 3080 card is blocking the PCIe x1 slot, which is what type of card my older Creative X-Fi Z series soundcard uses. Origin support said I should be able to plug it into either of the other two PCIe x16 slots. I've heard though that on some mobos if you do, that it drops the bandwidth to your GPU and makes that slot operate like PCIe x8 instead of a x16 slot. I also know some "tech support" people are just page flippers that look up the problem in a binder and aren't actually knowledgeable or helpful. So would that be okay to install it that way without affecting performance?
