Hi everybody,

I am planning on buying the MSI Z690 Force and an Intel i5-13600k CPU. I'm asking if anyone knows about any problems or system instability with this combination?
I know I should do BIOS update to the mobo before starting.
My other option is to buy the more expensive Gigabyte Z790 Aero.

Thanks.

No stability issues, he is just trying to upsell you. Any actual issues will be resolved by MSI, they aren't likely to release a BIOS update with zero testing. I would be more wary of the newer boards as they have had less hands on them to report problems and less time for issues to be fixed. Though I don't imagine there would be any problems anyway.

The motherboard has a flashback option, so you shouldn't have trouble updating the BIOS without a CPU.

I agree though that getting an i7 now is more worth it. Gets you max P-cores. Since this is the last CPU you are likely to buy for the board.

If you are going DDR5 anyway you should consider the 7700X, it is a pretty good deal. Depending on the features you need B650E is pretty...
first of all i would not advice you to pay 350-400+ dollars for "soon to be dead platform" motherboard (14th gen and new socket are coming this winter)
unless you can have those boards at some massive discount of course .
better option would be to take 200-250 dollar motherboard and upgrade your cpu to i7 13700K(F) .
and the best option if you need to buy new motherboard anyway would be
to wait one month for a ryzen 7800X3D and grab one of those along with some decent AM5 motherboard .

All good advices, BUT I don't want to wait all the time for the new best thing otherwise I would never upgrade cause there is always a new socket coming, as I understand every two years. And when the new socket and cpu Gen will come out they will be expensive, while now I can buy it in an ok-ish price.
About amd - never built a pc with amd cpu or gpu, and don't want to start reading all from the beginning about the different cpu's and which class I want etc. I am an Intel guy (may be unfortunately although at the moment they have better price to performance cpus).
I really like the looks and the specs of this Mobo (msi force) just that a local seller told me it's better to go with z790 that were built for the 13th gen, and with z690 I might have stability issues.. hence my question- does someone know about issues with 13th gen cpu and msi z690 force mobo?
About the 13700k i wanted it but anyways I think this all system is an overkill for me so maybe I should save the money - although I plan for this rig to last for 5-10 years as the one I have now (i7 3770k) which still works OK.

If you are going DDR5 anyway you should consider the 7700X, it is a pretty good deal. Depending on the features you need B650E is pretty compelling, but for what you are paying for Z690 you could get X760E with all the connectivity you could want (it has TWO chipsets)

I've been looking at LGA1700, but for the opposite, as cheap as is reasonable. i3-12100F to replace my aging i7-4770k. Nothing really wrong with it, just feels like it is about time to swap it out.
