Hello:

When I start the computer it starts beeping and it goes in sets of 5 and there are about 20 sets. I looked online for beep codes and apparently this should be a CPU error from what I can tell. Device manager and CPU-Z show no indication that there are problems with the CPU (i5 4670k). Any suggestions or tests or known fixes?

Thanks

as your getting video and your in windows with the new mb. the mb is posting. check with the power off that the ram sticks are locked in. also look to see if your connected to onboard video port on the gpu. if your connected to the mb then you may have missed plugging in the 4/8 pin power for the pci bus and or forgot to plug in power for the gpu and your getting a one-three-one beep code for video card failure.

I should mention it is a new issue. The build was 2 years ago so the computer in its current setup has been working since then. This beeping issue is about a month old. I have two GTX 760 in SLI and actually prior to my post I did pop them both out along with my and my RAM and reinstalled them. I didn't disconnect their power from the PSU however so I can try that but they both seem to be showing up in working order on CPU-Z and SLI being enabled.

As mentioned there are 5 seemingly quick, short, identical beeps in a set and there are 20 sets on startup. According to: https://forum-en.msi.com/faq/article/bios-beep-codes
this could mean:

AMI BIOS:
5 beeps - Processor error - bad processor

AWARD BIOS:
*repeated beeps - DRAM error
*repeated short beeps - Power error

The CPU seems functional as does the RAM so I guess that leaves a power error? I guess I can try reconnecting all the PSU connections.
