Just purchased the MSI Z97 PC Mate and the Intel g3258!

Unfortunately, the BIOS is not allowing me to increase the CPU Ratio allowing me to overclock, but I can decrease the ratio! If I type 30 it will stay if I type anything past 32 (Stock) it will revert right back to 32 when I click enter?

I'm currently running the latest bios and the motherboard detects the CPU as unlocked!

Please HELP!!

Solution
Possibly this CPU is "faulty" because of previous overclocking. That is why another CPU is suggested to be tested to confirm that either the original CPU (G3258) is faulty, or it might be that the motherboard is faulty.

If no other CPU is available for testing, maybe try another motherboard, if possible? Otherwise there seem to be no other options.

Already Checked and cleared CMOS no luck 🙁

Already tried, like I said it allows me to go under 32 but I can't go over 32!

Well, I currently don't have anyone with an over clickable cpu on hand, but this cpu was previously overclocked to 4 GHz on a different board 🙁
