Is there a big difference between my Msi H97 Gaming 3 and the Msi Z97?

And if I bought a Msi Z270 motherboard what is the diffidence between the two?

H97 can't overclock and can't run higher than DDR3-1600 memory. H97/Z97 also LGA1150 socket and isn't compatible with new CPU's. Only Haswell 4000 and Broadwell 5000 series.

MSI Z270 supports both Sky Lake CPU 6000 series CPU's and Kaby Lake 7000 series. It also can overclock and run memory speeds past DDR4-2400 unlike H170.
