High power usage? How long can it last from full charge?

There's nothing DISCREET about a pig of a laptop like this -maybe you meant DISCRETE, as in "not integrated". On the upside, maybe one of these would give the editors enough speed to proofread...

I like everything MSI releases. They have cajones.

The battery life should be decent on these because its using a 9-cell battery and a lower watt GPU then the GTX480m. Also MSI has already released the AMD based ones like a year ago.

[citation][nom]borisof007[/nom]Of course they didn't release pricing, it's probably gonna be around $3,500[/citation]

Pricing is probably going to be around $1200. A little research would reveal MSI does not release laptops over $2000.

The problem with Nvidia was on a much lager scale and they still deny responsibility "The settlement is not an admission of wrongdoing." There doing as little & as late as they possibly can.
At least ATI owned up 'According to "sources" at AMD, the firm's official graphics card diagnostic and validation software was recently discovered "to have a bug'
And in the other incident 'only 188 chips were actually found' which was also dealt with.
If Nvidia were to own up and fix there mess, Globally not just in the US because they have a court order, then something that happened 2 4 6 8 years ago could be forgotten.

I had one of those faulty ATI GPU in a Dell XPS and it was repaired free of charge.
-The difference is that ATI voluntarily fix my issue, which appeared in several thousands of PCs.
-nVidia tried to hide and downplay the issue about the defective GPUs. Not only that but nVidia and manufactures Dell and HP will not be fixing all the defective models even though thousands of users are complaining on their forums.
Still after all that "NVIDIA denies all allegations of wrongdoing and has asserted many defenses. The settlement is not an admission of wrongdoing.
Sorry nVidia, but I will pick the lesser of two evil.

I've got an hp model with a lowly i5 dualcore and a 512mb ati graphics card of some sort. runs wow fluidly, but the 6 cell battery only lasts me between 30 minutes and 1½ hours depending on usage. Expect this thing to be just as poor, as it has a better battery with the higher power components.

[citation][nom]otacon72[/nom]powernotebooks.com has laptops that will put any desktop to shame. I'm not advertising for them but you want to see some power laptops....check them out. 'The Sager NP7280 features the nVIDIA GeForce GTX 480M w/2GB GDDR5 memory as either a single card or DUAL CARDS in SLi.' OR 'Sager NP8120 2 x ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 w/1G GDDR5 in CrossFire'.[/citation]

2 ATI mobility Radeon HD 5870 = one HD 5850 ( desktop )
if not mistaken i think Tom's had one article mention that before, is about the Alienware 17inch laptop ~ ^^

"Now, you can see individuals off in the distance or hidden in dark corners in great detail," MSI said in a press release. "You can see their eyes, facial features, and clothing, making it easier to distinguish friend from foe"

And here I thought they were talking about the most advanced webcam in the world. =(

If that's true, holy crap that would be a good price, 'cause that just made me say "WHAT?!" just now.

please guys read a little more before making comments...
there are other similar models of this lappy on retail for like 3 months now, the gx660 and the gt660, the upper models of these have the same specs as this gt663 but with gtx285m (gt) and 5870m (gx) and they retail for ~1500. And for those arguing about battery life, find some benchs (there are a lot of them... and the battery life is very good for this type of lapptops). I suppose this new one will be a little pricey. And one last comment to otacon72, those sagers are not exactly portable
