Looking to spend about 300 on a family members computer to get it back up and operating.
It is an old compaq that the mobo is failing so far the audio is fryed and the onboard networking card is tempermental at best. It has a single core pentium d with 1 gb ddr2 ram. Nothing special at all.

System Usage from Most to Least Important:surfing the internet, picture viewing, other minimal tasks. no gaming

Parts Not Required:keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS, case(hoping to reuse the current mid tower case), PSU (COOLER MASTER GX Series RS650-ACAAE3-US 650W ATX12V v2.31 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply It is just sitting in my closet should be fine for only using maybe 300watts. )

Preferred Website(s) for Parts:newegg.com, tigerdirect,amazon anything reputable

Country of Origin:USA

Overclocking:No

SLI or Crossfire:no

Monitor Resolution:1440x900 (HP w1907)

Additional Comments: low cost just need the internals (CPU, mobo, ram, hdd (500gb should be fine but 1tb is what I would like) Doesn't matter what parts as long as they will last for internet surfing and picture viewing for hopefully the next 3-5 years or so.

Found this nice combo but not sure if I can get more out of this going seperately
i3-2100,MSI h61m, seagate 1tb 7200rpm, g.skill 4gb ddr3 1333, (useless)wireless NIC - 270.99

+1 Very nice my in-laws should love it. Like I said there won't be any gaming but some picture editing maybe all they do is use their computer to store pics and lookup things online. Sometimes when they are feeling like a challenge they even try getting on facebook.
