OK, going to keep this as short as possible but it's a somewhat complicated problem.

Basically I have 2 monitors, one plugged into a HD7870, the other into the motherboard, Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard

My 2nd monitor was in its correct resolution however I couldn't open media applications such as games like CS:GO, Steam and Skype

However I can fix this if I install a system update called 'Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. - Graphics Adapter WDDM1.3 - AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series', but this has led to an incorrect resolution on the second monitor.

I've tried installing/uninstall drivers for both the 7870 and the Radeon 3000 I think it was, but still no success

Is there a fix for this? Or does anyone have any suggestions?

Solution
The cable from the monitor is VGA and the 7870 has no VGA. My 1st monitor has a DVI converter, but the second DVI input on the 7870 looks different

Edit: apparently it's a dual-DVI, but I'm not too sure what this means. From what I've seen this is for allowing for a higher data rate, and not for more than one monitor.

Will a VGA to HDMI or VGA to Displayport work? Like this? http://amzn.to/1vI1Q80
