Multi-monitor Setup: Better CPU or better GPU?

So I'm a bit new with computers, and am going to build a setup with a few monitors for productivity reasons. I might also do some gaming, though I'll only be using one monitor (or 2 at max) for that purpose. They are all of full HD resolution, btw.

My question is, with that kinda setup, would I be better off with a better CPU or a better GPU? Which would make my overall experience better? Should I get an i7 with a low-end GPU (I.e. gtx 950) or an i5 with a midrange GPU (I.e. gtx 1060)?

For multiple monitors the GPU is the only thing that matters, but if you are only going to game on one monitor, even that doesn't really matter.

For gaming, definitely go with i5 + 1060

Depends on what i7 you were planning on getting, if you were planning on 4 core i7 then the i5 gtx 1060 combo will be better but if you were planning on a 6+core i7 then it's worth it to save on gpu.

I'm assuming you're buying Nvidia gpu because of cuda, if not then wait few days for AMD's rx 470 which should be a lot better for gaming than gtx 950

Also hell of a lot more expensive, the 950 is currently $110 on newegg

149$ for 4GB RX 470 and 119$ for 4GB RX460 i don't see how that is "hell of a lot more expensive" for better performance.

119 vs 149 is a 25% difference.
That is a lot more
Depending on performance it's worth it.

But anyway i5+1060 will be better than either scenario in most cases.
