Good day guys, ive seen this from their site and Im not sure about this. Its about my power supply

Multi-Protection
Over-power, Over-voltage, over-current, under-voltage and short-circuit protection to ensure the system stability.

with these features. lets say my power supply is 550 watts, and my PC consumption is 700watts(just an example). Well what will be the worst case scenario that will happen? will this PSU explode or short circuit or will just turn off etc.

thanks for the answers. BTW this PSU is a GIgabyte Greenmas 550W 80+ bronze. is it good?

Hi - While I woudln't rate that PSU as top quality, there are a lot worse ones out there.

If you were to attempt to draw more power than what is available, the over current/over voltage features
would shut the PSU down without harming your system.

There is no trusted review of this particular PSU, so you need to trust Gigabyte that these features are in fact
in the PSU. The OEM of this unit is CWT (Channel Well Tech)if it's the + version, so I would feel comfortable that this unit
would function as designed. If it is not the + version, the OEM is Acbel Polytech, which is a little less reliable than CWT. You
should still be OK.

well im using:
i5-3570 (with cooler master hyper evo 212x)
evga gtx 660 (non TI)
asus p8z77 m pro
samsung pro 128gb ssd
and a casing with 4 120mm fans

i have used a power supply calculator and it says that the recommended PSU wattage is 477 watts and its just gigabyte greenmax (non plus).

To be honest. Ive bought this PSU gigabyte greenmax 550 cause I know that gigabyte wont fail me cause I know that they supply reliable Video card and motherboard. That gigabyte PSU caught my eye and bought it and the box says "maximum output 700w) and it is 80+bronze. and ive been using this for 2 months already. Im just afraid because maybe one day, this PSU will just explode and cause fire and burn my house down

Nothing like that will happen, you're completely fine with that system. If you were running an AMD FX-8350 and a GTX 770 or something like that I'd be worried, but not with those specs.

Well i can breathe well now. cause im always leaving my PC on when im going out(like going to school etc). and im leaving my pc on while downloading. The worst case scenario here with my current psu is total shut down right?

Yes, that's the worst case scenario.
