Hi all

A friend who works for a charity asked if they can get help printing to one printer and share a drive. At the moment they have about five PC's one printer and an netgear 8 port switch (GS108 model). Right now if they want to print, they email one guy who does the printing.

What are the easiest options? I know there is a way to set it up so one PC has to be always switched on so others can print. How should they go about it?

Thanks

If all PCs are running Windows 7 and above - create a "Home Group", this will make your life easier.

On the computer where this printer is connected to - share it to "everyone". Create a folder, and also share it to everyone. On other computers - go to Network (or Network Neighborhood), find that PC, and connect to the printer, map the share.

For more detailed instructions - what is Windows version on each PC?

Hi,
Configurate the printer (IP, Host name, gateways ect...) then add that printer (with IP adress) from control panel on each PC.
Cheers.
