needing to hook up a unifi security gateway pro to the internet connection. sonicwall is what is used on the main network along with a couple of vlans. going to eventually switch from the sonicwall stuff to unifi. ran a cable from another port on the spectrum cable modem/router directly to the USG. not configured on the same IP addresses as the sonicwalls. ive set its own unique subnet. problem is, the internet connection on both devices intermittently goes in and out. not sure what the conflict is. bottom line, im just terying to configure this equipment on the same internet connection as our main network but im getting internet drops. any help would be appreciated.

Solution
yes it is in bridge mode and no, i only have one static outside ip.
Then you can only have one thing connected at a time. One of them will get an IP and the other won't. And if the MAC address bounces enough, your ISP may reset the interface.
If you want two things connected, then you would have to run double NAT.

Are you using a double NAT configuration or are you running the cablemodem combo in bridge mode? If bridge mode, do you have multiple public IP addresses assigned to you ?
