My GPU was running pretty bad so I took it apart to to clean it. the card is a Sapphire RX470 Platinum Edition. while cleaning I decided to remove the I/O plate but eventually I gave up on removing the plate (I realized I would have to take apart the whole graphics card to do it), put the card back together and inside my PC. it started up with seemingly no issues and indeed seemed to be running cooler so I proceeded to install 3dMark in order to see if performance actually improved under load.
I have 3 monitors in a kinda weird setup which often causes issues with games, so when the 3dMark Time Spy refused to run at 1080p for some reason, I decided to just disconnect my 2 other monitors. this didn't fix the issue with 3dMark, but created the present issue.
after reconnecting both monitors, I noticed that one of them wouldn't work (the monitor started and then would show a black screen for a few seconds followed by a "No Signal" message). I at first thought this was an issue with WIndows but after trying multiple times fix it using the display settings, I simply decided to swap the ports between the non-working monitor and the working monitor. the non-working monitor started working and the working one stopped working, so the issue is, I assume, with the ports on the graphics card itself.
long story short, out of the 4 outputs on my graphics card (3 DP, one HDMI) 2 of the DP ports had randomly stopped working. thinking this was an issue with how I reassembled the graphics card I took it back out and tried to tighten the screws on the IO plate, after which point all three DP ports on the card had stopped working, and only the HDMI works now.
what happens is that upon connecting the monitors, they are recognized by the computer, both by Windows and the AMD Adrenalin software, but nothing is displayed on either monitor (I get a "No Signal" message when turning them on) and they are shown to have weird resolutions (both monitors are 1080p but one is detected as 640x480 while the other at 832x624).
So far, I have tried reinstalling the drivers twice (just by uninstalling through Windows and then re-running the installer, maybe I should use DDU?), and reseating the GPU in the slot multiple times as well, and every time I get the same result with the main monitor, plugged into the HDMI working fine and both other monitor being recognized by the computer but not actually displaying anything.
Any help in diagnosing the issue would be highly appreciated, so thank you in advance.
