I have recently installed XP Pro on my machine and ran well initially.
However, suddenly it started to slow down and hang, taking minutes to clear
ended tasks. If I called up the Task Manager to end the program, the TM
window had dozens of entries, showing the files that were supposed to be
currently running. Also the TM window did not appear in its normal form - no
column to indicate the stauas of each file, no controls to end the program
run, not title banner.
Does anyone have any idea of what might have happened and how to correct it
- I hope its not another re-install!

Double click the border of Task Manager. This should restore it
to normal operation. You have it set to what's called "Tiny
Footprint" mode.

Why is part of my Task Manager gone?

Hi Nepatsfan,
Always a pleasure to meet somebody who knows more than I do!
Thanks very much - I have reset the Task Manager to its usual appearance
and unchecked the tick-box that selects processes from all users - normality
has been restored. I am grateful .............. Mackerel-moth
