Mushkin or Ripjaws?

I'm trying to decide between two sets of memory, namely these -

Mushkin:

G.Skill:

The only reason I'm considering the Mushkin set is because it's cheaper. Is the G.Skill RAM worth it? It looks like the Mushkin set has (slightly) lower latency as well, however, I don't know which RAM would be more stable.

CPU heatsink clearance
Looks
Size
Speed

Speaking of which. Why do you need 16Gb and 1866 RAM? For a non AMD APU build you should stick with 1600mhz. Also for gaming you only need 8Gb, 16Gb is for photo, editing, video stuff.

Well I'm looking to build a rig that will have good performance for a number of years to come, without upgrading down the line. Just a little future-proofing, so I'm spending a little more up front. Thanks for the info; this is my first big build, and I'm lookin' to do it right!

If it is for gaming I still wouldn't get 16Gb. Most games don't even use near 4Gb yet. More like 2-3. Also get 1600mhz, you won't see games benefit more than that any time soon.

The G.Skill set is cheaper with the promo code. 16GB of DDR3-1866 is definitely future proof for the lifetime of that computer.
