Music and movie files skip

Graboid in combination with vlc player has either corrupted all of my media files or my sound output device. When i frist installed graboid 1.65 it asked if i wanted to remove existing vlc player-i opted not to. The player and downloader worked fine for a few days. Then i downloaded a movie and 30 minutes into it the audio began skipping intermittently every 10 seconds or so-making a digital scraping sound. Now all of my existing media files do the same thing regardless of the player-windows media player, vlc, youtube, etc. I did a system restore, uninstalled reinstalled-opting to remove old vlc player and the player and all media files on all players work fine for about thirty minutes and then the same problem happens. HELP!?!?

You may have a codec problem. Try installing a codec pack like the Vista Codec pack, or Klite or one of the others. May help.
