My 7870 Tahiti LE can run High end DX11 games well but falls flat on games like Minecraft and Rust, any idea why?

Hello all, today I installed my new gpu, and it runs well on games like Planetside 2, I can get 75 fps on that with almost max settings, but on games like Rust (Yes the grass set to false) and Minecraft, It runs horribly. Before on a gtx 560 I could get 120+ fps on Minecraft, now I barely reach 60, and rust, I used to get 25 fps maxed out now I get 19. Why does this happen, is it a software issue, or is it a fault with my gpu?

Amd FX 8120 @ 3.4ghz
VTX3D HD 7870 Tahiti LE
Asus M5a78l-M/USB3
8GB DDR3 RAM @1600 MHZ
650w PSU
1TB HDD @ 7200 RPM
Windows 7 64 Bit
Latest catalyst non Beta Drivers.

Minecraft is a lot heavier on the CPU than the GPU.

I have an 8 core at 3.4ghz and my previous gpu could run it fine, there shouldn't be an issue.

Probably the drivers. I have a laptop with an i3-2*** (don't remember) at 2.1GHz dual core and a GT520m and it runs minecraft no problem (even recording). Before I was getting major lag. Updated the drivers and It went up to 30fps and up all maxed up. Try different drivers if you have the latest. And if it ins't gpu fault, try the mobo drivers. Hope it helps

I backdated the drivers to 13.9, didn't work, I'm gonna try updating the drivers to 14.3 beta, otherwise I will just update the mobo drivers. Fingers crossed! Any other ideas?

Since updating (actually, installing them, since I was using the intel integraded ones -_-) did the job for me, I don't know what else to do. Updating java would be another thing to check. Since you don't have integrated graphics I don't believe it could be the same problem I had. If it doesn't work, say it here again, I'll search more for it
