I bought an addressable rgb led strip couple of years ago. Today I plugged it in my pc (with asus B450-e which has addressable rgb header), but it wont light up? I opened aura sync and it detects the led strip, but there is no light at all.

You need a controller to plug into your motherboard's USB port. Just plugging the light strip in may not do anything. You need to have a light strip hub that's PCI or USB based and then plug your strip into that and then into the header on the motherboard and your strip should work then.

With Arduino, it's almost certainly 5VDC, then.

The Aura headers are 12V RGB. The "ADD_HEADER" supports 5VDC SW2812B addressables, but the MB manual leads me to believe that you have to enable LED effects in BIOS; so, it may just be a matter of getting into your BIOS menu, looking for "ROG Effects" and diddling with the settings under that menu heading.

That header is likely disabled.

Check pages 1-18 and 3-15 in your MB manual.
