So I just built a new pc, and it works fine except for the fact that not all of my Corsair Vengeance DDR4 ram is being recognized. I got 16 gigs in total (4 pieces of 4) and the computer is only picking up 8. I've tried swapping the modules around to see if any of them are dead, and that doesnt appear to be the case, so I'm completely stumped. The mobo I'm using is an asus X99-A and my OS is windows 7 home premium. Any ideas?

If you dont mind me asking where may I find this memtest86? I'm not entirely sure which one to download.

For my motherboard it says to install four sticks of ram in the slots A1 B1 C1 and D1, which I did. I'm also pretty sure I mounted it correctly as I re mounted them multiple times, but you never know.

Hello Will, I am having the same exact problem. I am on my 2nd board and it's doing the same thing, it's recognizing 3 sticks of memory now. The Asus technician informed me to update my BIOS version (it was 6 versions behind) and after the updates, it recognized only 2 sticks! So I am back to square 1 and Asus is preparing to send me another REFURBISHED motherboard!

Asus informed me that slot D1 was the memory test slot. Place each stick of memory in that slot. If it doesn't read it, then the stick is bad.
