My BOOT time has changed after installing softwares and drivers.

NOTE: I don't know what's the official definition of "BOOT", if there is one, but I'm referring to the time between the BIOS start and until the desktop shows up).

This is a new computer build
Windows 8.1 PRO 64BIT, on a (new, like the rest) Samsung EVO 840 120GB SSD.

You know the Winows 8 spinning wheel when Windows is loading? Well after I got done with the installation, the next few system reboots, I noticed the wheel made 1 cycle before showing showing the desktop. I don't know exactly when, but after installing some of my programs, drivers, softwares, etc - the wheel now makes 5 cycles before showing the desktop.

At first I suspected it was the statup programs, but I thought it is unlikely, seeing how they start loading AFTER the desktop is up, but I went to Task Manager and removed them from the startup, nevertheless, for the sake of testing - and I wasn't shocked to find out that the number of cycles remained the same - 5.

Now I'm asking myself what could be the reason.. Is it normal? because I am familiar with this, but with my older machine (the previous one) - after formatting, etc etc. This is my first SSD so I can't really tell if it's normal.. but I'd very much like to get back to a less-cycle-boot =[

Any help will be appreciated, either solving the issue (if it is an issue indeed), or pointing out the reason.

Thanks!

I don't know how long 5 cycles are, better to time it. I have a Samsung 830Pro 256 Gb in here and it has a lot of stuff on it. From the push of the button til it is ready to go, 15 secs.

Thanks for the reply!

From the time the bios is up to the time the desktop is shown - about 15 seconds as well. I already timed it many times, but again - it is 5 CYCLES! it used to be less, thus making the total time shorter.. I'm not saying 15 seconds is too bad, but if it was shorter, it means it definitely can.

Any clue how many cycles yours is making? I count cycles by the time it hits the top again. Every 360 degrees is 1 spin (even if it disappears half way through - it starts a new spin again from the top, and then I count it too)

Ah, sorry
I guess I'l justl have to deal with that, because I get no answers whatsoever =[
