My build good for Overclocking?

Solution
If you pair an i5-6600k with a Z270 motherboard you don't need to BIOS update. Only if you get a new Kaby Lake CPU with an older Skylake motherboard. So i5-7600k with a Z170 motherboard will need a BIOS update.

i5-6600k is much better value anyways.
Well All Set In Best Way :)

U Choosed Cooler Master 212X Which Can Answer The Issue Of Probable Overheat Very Well 😛

U Choosed Msi Mobo Z Series ( Good Choice of Oc )

U Choosed A Good Power Supply Which Will Not Hold U Back In The Wattage Supports In Heavy Oc Mode ( How Ever I Always Prefer Seasonic Series. But Ur Psu Is Ok )

And U Choosed A Good Overclockable Gpu Specialized For Gaming.

3 Fan Is Ok Enough For Ur Case .

Just As The PcPartPicker Mentioned Below U May need An Bios Upgrade . So Dont Forget To Update That 😉

So What Should I Suggest U? All Set :)

Enjoy Ocing And Gaming

Regards 😉

Good PSU? The EVGA SuperNOVA NEX (OEM FSP) is average at best.

Switch the PSU to the Antec TruePower Classic (OEM Seasonic). Even the 550W will do. You'll lose modularity but gain reliability.

If you still want modularity then get the new SuperNOVA G2 (OEM Super Flower) version or the newer platform from FSP, HYDRO G, instead of the old NEX version.

And for that much money, you can get the ASROCK Z270 Extreme4 which TechPowerUp has tested to get their i7 7700k to 5Ghz@1.312V, fully compatible with Kabylake from the get go.

That board will probably need a BIOS update to be compatible with a Kaby Lake chip, and unless you have a 6th gen CPU to put in so you can update you'll need to find someone to do it for you.

Apart from that, great build, and very OC friendly yes.

White/black insanity for a similar price.

OK thank you. Now i understand.

But if i update do i download the latest driver version?

OK i'm confused again (sorry i'm new to PC's). OK so i look at the motherboard details on the MSI support website and it says it supports 6th generation core processors http://, so i than proceed to look at 6th generation processors and i see the i5 6600k on the official Intel website http://.

OK thank you.

He can't create a USB stick with the BIOS file on a different system, change boot priority to the USB stick, and just install it that way?

No not with that board. Some boards have CPU free methods to update BIOS, usually by pressing a button on the board and connecting a USB drive, but you need M-Flash to load to update (the BIOS update utility for MSI) and to do that you need to first access BIOS.

Without a CPU providing a display there'll be no way to reboot in M-Flash mode.

Ok so i just download the driver than M-FLASH on the bios. I understand.

Ok thank's, so what Z270 motherboard do you have in mind that's not cheap in quality but about the same price? I think i might go with the MSI Z270 Gaming M3...

OK so i am sticking with the i5 6600k, if i'm not wrong isn't the Z170 boards the only ones that support this type of CPU as well as the i7 6700k. So why are you saying it is incompatible?

How do you mean incompatible?

Skylake processors: i5-6600k/i7-6700k
Skylake chipset: Z170

Kaby Lake processors: i5-7600k/i7-7700k
Kaby Lake chipset: Z270

i5-6600k/i7-6700k + Z170 = Both Skylake, meaning fully compatible and no BIOS update required.
i5-6600k/i7-6700k + Z270 = Fully compatible, because the Z270 recognises older Skylake processors.

i5-7600k + Z170 = Incompatible, BIOS update required. Z170 can't recognise i5-7600k because it was made before i5-7600k were made. So software where it does recognise them needs to be used (BIOS update).

i5-7600k + Z270 = Fully compatible, both were made for each other.

OK thank you so much, sorry for the confusement .
