My build is acting up.

I'm having a few issues with my PC I build around a year ago. When I turn it on, 60% of the time it's stuck on a black screen and it makes noises like it's trying to turn on, but it doesn't, it's just stuck on the black screen. I'll also rarely get BSOD but it's uncommon and it's usually out of nowhere. Also, every 20-30 mins my headset and external HDD will disconnect from my PC and instantly re-connect.

What could be causing all of these issues? I've re-installed all of my drivers, re-installed windows and it's still happening.

Specs:

GPU: AMD 7770
CPU: i5-3570K
MOBO: MSI Z77A-G45

If you the rest of the specs just post saying that and I'll fine them.

Intermittent problems are the worst, ugh.
What BSODs? I think it's your motherboard causing all of these issues, tbh.
I think you will end up needing to RMA your motherboard.
What is your power supply?

Tell us the whole system - What PSU do you have. Can you boot to CD/USB reliably?

I don't know the BSOD. It only rarely happens so it's unlikely I'll be able to get that info, sorry.

The PSU is a Corsair Builder Series CXM 500W.

That PSU is pretty bad quality, but it's sufficient and shouldn't be causing your issues..
Have you tried resetting your CMOS?

I haven't done that before. I dug out my old user manual I got with the board and I can't find anything about it in the index. I looked online and it says that removing the battery and then placing it back it does it, is that true? I just want to make sure before I do anything.

Okay, I've successfully reset the CMOS. They didn't fix it, though.

Damn. Worth a try, though.
Try taking the GPU out, and plug the monitor straight into the motherboard. Then try and boot a few times and see if you get the same issues.
