my cd-rom does not respond

my computer is not responding after insert cd into cd drive and then everything starts not wanting to respond i cant believe i have gotten this far lol anyways i hope to get some kind of help or even a solution to my computers problem i hope to hear from you soon and i want to thank you for taking the time in reading and in hopes of an answer soon. once again thank you
