My computer boots very slow

I have a weird problem. When start my computer it takes around 1 hour or more to go to BIOS. When I power on my computer, after 1 hour a red LED beside the RAM named DRAM_LED glows for a while and a beep sound , then it start to boot up. After booting up it is running fine(at normal speed) thereon whole day. Hot boot is also ok. But when I tried to cold boot it again takes 1 hour. What to do?

Test your RAM, download and boot into memtest86 and let it run a pass. See how many errors it gets.

Sounds like a RAM problem, but its hard to know with out more information. DL and run the memtest86 as Novuake suggested. What are your complete systems specs please list them, what O/S are you running. Are you using a Malware and Antivirus software? Has the system ever run normal or has it always had this slow boot. If it ran fine before what changes did you do (Hardware & software) before just this problem started.

RAM: Zion DDR3 2*2 GB 1333 MHz
MotherBoard: Asus M4A87TD/USB3(socket am3)
HDD: Western Digital 1TB (Cavier Green)
Graphics Card: XFX ATI-readon HD6870(1GB) DDR5
Optical Drive: LG 22X DVD-RW
Power Supply: Zebronics Platinum series (ZEB-800W)

I am using AVG antivirus 2012 free edition.

In earlier days it was more than fine as I say before(like 3-4 months ago). But I remember when the problem happened first time. I press a button called "MemOK!" located in my motherboard just above the "DRAM_LED". I don't know what it does. A red light continuously glows then and no sign of booting. I scared and press and hold that button again until it blinks repeatedly. And then wait for booting my computer. Since then the slow booting exists. Before that it started booting just in a moment when I press the power on key from my cabinet.

Now I am going to do the ram test using "memtest86". I will post again as soon as I
came to know the result.

I run memtest86(version 4.00) for 4 and half hours and till after 5 passes it didn't show any error.
Any other suggetion guys?

I would reset BIOS to defaults and disable the MemOK!. Download the manual for your motherboard for instructions on how to do that.

I reset BIOS by removing my CMOS battery. I googled and searched that ASUS has no feature to disable the MemOK! button. And again the problem still exists.

Then its got to be your HDD or SATA interface. Run Seatools or your HDD manufacturer equivalent.

I do run the HDD test using western digital data lifeguard tools and it successfully passes. That means HDD is ok. Now, what to do?

Wow thats annoying... Boot your system with the bare minimum, remove the mobo and set it up on a static free surface, use only the mobo, one stick of ram, CPU and PSU. It could be that your board is shorting on your chassis.

Do you have an exra PSU lying around?

I tried booting with motherboard, cpu, one stick of ram, psu and graphics card(as I don't have any display port on my mobo). Same problem happens. It takes around 1 hour and then the beep sound came for the first time. I mean the problem still exists.

I don't have any extra PSU. Do I need to check my PSU to? Is there any other way beside buying a new PSU?

My computer used to be ridiculously slow! I saw the link to yourpcoptimizers and I was in awe on how well it worked! Give it a shot, i did and it was the best investment ive made in a long time. http://yourpcoptimizers.com
