Is there a specific SATA port not working on the motherboard? If so you may want to check your BIOS settings. Also your motherboard’s manual. As one of the SATA ports is often disabled by other installed components. Usually an m.2 SSD.
i think all sata port is good, few months ago, all 4 drives some times detected, and suddenly only 3 detected, i though one of them was mallfunction, and now i have a new one, but still can detect 3 drives
I use1 SSD ( for windows system ), and 3 drives HD ( seagate and WDC ), my mobo MSI b150m Pro-VDH ,
I never change the setting from bios because i am new on computer, all default setting
