Hello,

My pc keeps freezing often after booting up. I have already reformatted it twice, updated all the drivers and bios. During this freeze, I can move my mouse and click on my windows taskbar or the start menu but nothing happens. When I try to access my task manager, it opens but then freezes too.

My config :
  • Ryzen 7 3800X
  • Asus ROG Strix 570-E Gaming
  • Corsair Vengeance LPX (4x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz C16
  • Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 WINDFORCE OC
  • Crucial MX300 525GB (for OS)
  • Seagate BarraCuda, 2Tb (for data storage)
  • Corsair CS650 80PLUS Gold

Understood. Assuming that a firmware update was actually applied, it's possible that Windows would have to be installed afterwards, not before, to fix the issue. Regardless, I still suspect your SSD. Question: You're doing a fresh Windows install using the official Microsoft EXE (tool) installing from a USB flash drive, right? Not cloning another drive or an ISO, right?

This posting involves MX300 + Acronis cloning, but one of the actions "Disabled Write Caching" might be worth your investigating.

Awnser: yep, i have used a USB with the official microsoft tool. I formatted all my disks before reinstalling windows.
And for the i disabled write caching and nothing change.
Do you suggest to reinstall windows with the good firmware update ? or maybe buy a new SSD?

I'd reach out to Crucial first via the chat option to see if they have any ideas. Reinstalling Windows would be the free option, so I'd go with that afterwards. Purchasing a SSD is an option that I would personally choose as a troubleshooting step, but to be clear, I don't know what's causing your problem. My guess is that it's your storage, but I could certainly be wrong. How would you feel if you purchased a new SSD and the problem persisted? That is indeed a possibility, so it would be ideal if you could locate another storage drive to test, before investing more money.

I think it's solved :
I formatted my HDD in NTFS, install windows on it. Then I deleted all partitions in my SSD and after that i formatted it in NTFS completely. Finally, i reinstall windows on my SSD and atm it's working.

Thx to Crucial Support and rcald2000
