I was in the middle of killing a rare elite in WoW and all of a sudden my computer shuts off. A couple seconds later it seems to start back up and then shuts off again 2 seconds later and so on and so forth until I have to just unplug it from the wall in the 2 seconds its off. I have no idea what just happened.... Any help would be much appreciated!

GPU: EVGA GTX 980 Classified
PSU: Corsair AX860i
CPU: i5-4690k
MOBO: ASUS Maximus VII Impact
RAM: 16 GB Corsair Vengeance Pro
Storage: Samsung 850 Pro

My temps were probably about 70 C for my CPU and 60ish for my GPU at the time of the crash, well at least I suspect but I don't know. I decided to try again to restart it and it turned on, thankfully. But I still want to know why it happened. When I powered it back on it said there was a power surge and that my PSU protected the system from being harmed. In bios I think it said that the overclock failed, even though I wasn't trying to overclock anything....

Nothing else turned off, and no I haven't ever tried overclocking. The memory is clocked past 1600mhz but I don't know anything about the XMP profile.

Keep an eye on your temps when gaming for a few days, especially the CPU, that may give us some info.

Alright will do, what is the max my CPU/GPU should be at while under load?

CPU should be less than 70c and GPU should be less than 80-85c under load.

Unfortunately I don't have another PSU, and I just got this one after my old one died around 2 months ago. Maybe I'll send something to Corsair about my issue.
