Question My computer seems to be underperforming than it should in variety of games

CPU : Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4690K CPU @ 3.50GHz
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
RAM : 8.0 GB
OS : Windows 10 64 bit

as I said in the title, my computer seems to be underperforming in various games such as CSGO (mid setting). I get like 40 -70fps
and other games too and so on

is this normal?

Is the monitor connected to the gpu and not the motherboard?

Is the RAM 2x4gb or 1x8gb?
