My computer shut off during a storm and will not turn back on

Do you know if the power went out during the storm?

If so when it was turned back on their could have been a power surge that damaged your Power Supply. Was it on a surge protector?

have you tried unplugging it entirely from the wall for a good while? I've had this happen and it worked when I came back

I will unplug for a longer time and see if that works. And I wasn't using the computer at the time, my brother had left it on. The power did go off a few times today, so yes the power must have gone of while the computer was on, now it won't turn back on. I will try to unplug for a while, how long should I wait? because I have already tried unplugging and plugging back in, as well as turning switch on back off. I don't know if I have surge protection, prolly not because it's not turning on? Some1 built this computer for me. Any other ideas on what I can do?

Make sure the wall outlet has power to it, just plug a lamp into it and see. If you have power to the outlet, open the case to see if any fans are running orlights are on, if nothing powers up you probably got a power surge and might have to buy a new unit.

the outlet is fine. i opened the computer and there is a small led light that lights up on the motherboard. What does this mean?

I just hooked up another power supply and the computer worked. So it is the power supply... What would u guys recommend? I want 600watts. And also please recommend a good surge protector or suppressor. Whats the difference between protector/suppressor ne ways? Thanks
